Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

As our new Senior Accounts Payable Specialist , you’ll play a key role in managing and improving our accounts payable processes, while helping us transition from a largely manual operation to a more automated and efficient AP environment.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate and efficient day-to-day AP activities, whilst working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to support the implementation and optimisation of our new automated system. You’ll help drive process improvements, identify opportunities to increase efficiency and ensure a smooth transition as our ways of working evolve. This is an opportunity to make a real impact, with the role developing over time to focus increasingly on more complex, value-added activities within a fully automated AP environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Regional Accounts Payable in delivering an accurate, compliant and efficient AP function.
• Oversee end-to-end invoice, payment, reconciliation and AP ledger processes across relevant regions.
• Provide guidance and escalation support to the AP team, suppliers and internal stakeholders on complex queries.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support month-end, year-end, audit and tax compliance activities.
• Drive AP process improvements, automation and system initiatives, supporting the transition to more efficient ways of working.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong AP and accounting experience, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of AP processes, reconciliations, controls and accounting principles.
• Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system skills, with confidence adapting to new technology.
• Well organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate across Finance and wider business teams.
